new year's eve traditions

New Year's Eve is probably one of my favorite celebrations because of all the crazy things I do to prepare for it. Being a native from Spain, it's a big deal for us!
If you want to celebrate with YRose, here are some must-do's:

*Wear red undergarments
*Eat 12 grapes when the clock starts to chime at midnight (1 for each chime)
*Have your right foot lifted while eating the grapes and step on it after you eat your last grape
*Toast!

Dee (gal on the right) is coming over this weekend to do some holiday shopping with me...and of course go to Martha Stewart on Tuesday yayy. We're going to hit up the Gifted Holiday Market on Sunday. best bracelet EVER

I saw this bracelet a few weeks ago in a blog and had been thinking about it everyday until I finally made the decision to purchase it. I got it in the mail today and I don't think it is going to leave my wrist anytime soon. So cute! I like items that inspire and this bracelet is going to remind me everyday of my favorite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt:

FALL 09 ~ Mademoiselle Bolo Tie

I love menswear inspired clothing... blazers, jeans, ties, you name it. Well this weekend I was watching Brokeback Mountain with mom and got interested in Western styles. Fringes, bead work, and cowboy boots are definitely in for fall, so I merged my love for knitting and menswear to create this modern knit bolo tie. It's the perfect guy meets gal accessory, if you ask me :)

Yoli came home today with this lovely box for me...filled with macaroons! I love my cupcakes, but I am also very fond of this french treat. Has anyone tried them? What's your favorite flavor? So far almond citrus and strawberry are my fave.

In honor of International Women's Day coming up, Y.Rose will be donating 40% of all sales made this Sunday to the Save Darfur Coalition. Women are continually struggling to live on an equal basis in many countries of the world and are targets of violence and rape. Health care needs are also often ignored or insufficiently taken into account in war situations. The Genocide still happening in Darfur, Sudan is very close to my heart and needs our help right now more than ever.
